Aurélien teaches a contemporary class. His focus is to find an organic and fluid way of moving while emphasizing technicality and physicality. Dancers are challenged to reach their maximum range of motion using transitions, movement qualities and their own individual traits.
His warm up generally starts on the floor with a focus on core strength to progressively and gently warm up the dancers’ body. The rest of the warm up heavily relies on modern technique concepts and accentuates the articulation of the back, the use of space and movement dynamics.
Aurélien is a current member of the Steps Repertory Ensemble under the direction of Bradley Shelver. During his time in the company he has performed works by Elisa Monte, William Forsythe, Francesca Harper, Lar Lubovitch, Sidra Bell, Jae Man Joo, Mike Esperanza, Julia Erhstrand, Larry Keigwin, Benoît Swan Pouffer, Nathan Trice, and Bradley Shelver.
He has also performed with companies and choreographers including LaneCoArts under Lane Gifford, the Next Stage Project under Jana Hicks and Marijke Eliasberg, Sexy Beast NYC under Max Stone, BennyroyceDance under Bennyroyce Royon, Baka Gaijin Dance Collective under Julia Ehrstrand, the La Verriere Company under François Huchard, and with Sceneindgangen under Jenny Major.
Recently, Aurélien performed as a featured dancer in the music video for Sigrid Flory’s “Elle s’immisce” and Broadcast Hearts “Real”.
