Power Yoga is a practice that is based on the Vinyasa method (movement synchronized with breath) while emphasizing strength work. In this method we practice power exercises, work on the core muscles and combine challenging postures such as handstands and arm balances, to build physical and mental strength. The method is diverse and creative, and the sequences vary according to the theme of the lesson.
The challenging postures allow the mind to be present, by concentration, intention, attention, and breath. While we face the challenges of this practice, it allows us to meet ourselves in the different states and slowly build mental and physical strength. A sense of ability is created, of the possibilities of our body to cope with challenging postures and situations on and off the mat.
When the body is strong – the mind is strong.
