סדנת Axis Syllabus עם Baris Mihci

 

Biologic structures are low energy consuming, open systems, constructed with soft, viscoelastic materials that behave nonlinearly. The hallmark of our spine is flexibility and movement.

As a biological structure it is mobile, flexible hinged, omni-directional and can function in a gravity free environment.

 

In this workshop we will explore together how we can use the Tensegrity system applied onto our bodies through the use of elastic recoil in respect to the range of motion in our articulations.

Throwing parts of our body into space and playing with the elastic stretch of our tissues we can gain more fun by involuntary reactions and channel these into bouncy options.

Baris Mihci

Born in Wuppertal, Germany renowned as the home of “Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater” Pina was naturally a grand influence on his experience of the art of dancing and his life path. Baris did not start dancing until after obtaining his degrees in Social Pedagogy, German language and Sports and Special Education for physically disabled children at the University of Cologne.

 

In 2001 he was introduced to the Axis Syllabus when he then fully immersed himself in dance.

 

Baris is one of the most active AS teachers giving regular classes and workshops for dancers and amateurs in Brussels (Studio Hybrid, Danscentrum Jette and Espace Catastrophe ) and around Europe including Italy, Sweden (DOCH and Culberg Ballet), Austria, Romania, Paris, Greece, Germany (Tanzfabrik), etc.

 

Baris notably introduced the AS to Istanbul in 2006. He is devoted to building and supporting the AS Research Community and he has been a pillar in Nomadic College organization since 2004. It is an honor to have him teaching in Israel.
