Together we will spiral in and out of the earth, pass through expansion and cohesion run, slide, learn how to challenge gravity, how to fall, how to rise, and how to command your body.
We will work with efficient pathways to move with speed without forgetting any part of our body. We will command our body with our voice.
We will pass through the space with unlimited possibilities in curve transforming the environment of dance We will instantly cmpose together.
We will be soft, wild and powerfully spontaneous.
The workshop will be a combination of principles from Flying Low & .Passing Through originally created by David .Zambrano and Leila’s further development.
Leila is an international choreographer, teacher and performer who has worked with artists including David Zambrano, Crystal Pite, and Wendy Houstoun. She curated This Way, That Way (2015) at Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells as part of Wild Card, to a Sold Out audience.
Her work Family Portrait has been presented at Lilian Baylis Studio Sadler’s Wells; Greenwich Dance and Dance4. She was Artist in Residence at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (2017) created a new work Three fingers at arms Length and new film project Hood.
Since receiving a place on David Zambrano’s 50 Days Flying Low and Passing Through (2010), Leila is one of the internationally certified artists teaching this technique, and has led the development of this approach in the UK. She is a guest Lecturer at London Contemporary Dance School and has gone on to teach throughout Europe, Middle East, Asia , United States and South America. Has an ongoing collaboration with visual artist Paolo Fiorientini producing a series of video, still images and installations under the project Envelop . She is the co-owner of Muxima, an Independent art and culture café in Bow, East London , winner of ‘Best Café in Bow’ from TimeOut London 2015 and 2016.
