Hiphop with Kyle Sorensen

Hip Hop with Kyle Sorensen is rooted in the history of American street dance and inspired by a range of eclectic interests, including fusion folk forms, pop dance, breakdancing, and contemporary.

Class consists of a cardiovascular warm-up, body conditioning, across the floor exercises, and a final combination. Join Kyle and explore fluid and percussive possibilities in the pursuit of your own personal groove.

Kyle Sorensen

Kyle Sorensen has been making dances and performing for over 18 years. He has taught Hip Hop at the University of California, San Diego, San Diego City College, Canyon Crest Academy, and All That Jazz Dance Studio to name a few. Known for creating work that emphasizes collaborative processes and dynamic physicality, his choreography has been exhibited and awarded special honors throughout the United States and international venues including the Tanzsommer Festival in Austria.
Most recently, Kyle was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study dance and choreographic processes in Israel for 2013-14. He is the Co-Artistic Director of somebodies dance theater.
