Pilates Reformer
It all started with a bed. Joseph Pilates treated wounded soldiers confined to their beds, attaching springs to them so they could move against resistance and gradually rehabilitate. From that original bed, the reformer beds we train on today were born, and the core idea remains the same: to re-educate the body for precise movement, upright posture, and strong muscles through elongation.
The advantage of practicing on Pilates equipment lies in the wide variety of exercises, the individual attention given to each practitioner, personalized care, and pre-scheduled classes that allow for consistent practice, progress, and of course, injury rehabilitation.
Who is it for? Everyone. Athletes, dancers, people who sit for hours in front of a computer, pregnant women, those rehabilitating from injury or with limited mobility, and anyone who simply wants to feel better in their body. Age, gender, or fitness level don't matter.
Our classes are conducted on Pilates "beds" (reformers) that allow you comfortable control over body positions. These beds are connected with springs that enable comfortable stretching and resistance tailored to individual needs.
An hour of focused attention, almost any time you choose 🙂 .
What's the difference between Mat Pilates and Equipment Pilates?
In Mat Pilates, you primarily work against your body weight, with flow and minimal props. With equipment, springs are introduced, offering the ability to regulate resistance, provide assistance where needed, and challenge where possible. This is what makes the workout precise and personalized.
And does it tone the body?
The balanced work on all muscle groups will change your body's structure, but this is a pleasant bonus rather than the primary goal. Unlike a gym, where muscle mass is increased through contraction, here muscles are worked through elongation, with breath and a balance between stabilizing and mobilizing muscles. The result is a strong body protected from pain and injuries.
