Yoga Teacher School

What began as a small community of practitioners in 2004 has grown into 17 branches, hundreds of weekly classes, and a wide, living network of teachers and students across Israel. Since the school opened in 2013, many hundreds of graduates have completed our teacher training courses, and many of them teach today in Israel and around the world.

Our teacher training program was created from the same spirit that shapes the studio itself: openness, curiosity, depth, and an ongoing willingness to learn. We believe yoga is not something to perfect, but something to continue meeting, again and again, through practice, teaching, and everyday life.

This training is designed to give you strong foundations, in practice, in teaching, and in finding your own voice as a teacher. A space to ask questions, explore different approaches, make mistakes, and grow with confidence and humility.

Yoga is a lifelong path. Teaching is one way to walk it.

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Our core program is a 200-hour yoga teacher training with international Yoga Alliance recognition. Studies combine anatomy, yoga philosophy, teaching methodology and hands-on practice in an active studio, alongside deep personal practice. Graduates receive a certificate that allows teaching in Israel and abroad.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a 200-hour and a 300-hour yoga teacher training?

A 200-hour yoga teacher training is the foundational program and the entry point into teaching. It is designed for practitioners who want to learn how to teach yoga, and no prior teaching experience is required.

A 300-hour training is a continuing program for graduates of a 200-hour course. It is especially suited to teachers who want to deepen their knowledge of yoga philosophy, anatomy, practice techniques, class adaptation and teaching methodology.

Many choose to complete 200 hours, gain teaching experience, and only then continue to a 300-hour training. That practical experience lets you arrive at the advanced program with questions and insights born from real encounters with students.

What is a 500-hour yoga teacher training?

A 500-hour training can be studied as one complete program or as a combination of a 200-hour foundation course and a 300-hour continuing course.

At Studio Naim, completing both courses, 200 plus 300 hours, creates a cumulative 500-hour training. International registration as RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance is subject to the organization's current requirements, which include teaching experience.

What do you learn in a 200-hour yoga teacher training?

The course provides the foundations needed to teach yoga: anatomy, yoga philosophy, practice techniques, sequencing, teaching methodology and hands-on practice.

Studies combine theoretical knowledge with personal practice, class observation and teaching experience. The goal is not only to know postures, but to learn how to build a class, explain movement clearly, observe practitioners and lead a group with confidence and responsibility.

Do I need prior experience to join the 200-hour course?

A background in yoga practice is required, but you do not need to be an advanced practitioner or arrive with teaching experience. What matters is curiosity, commitment to practice and a desire to learn.

Admission requirements may vary between tracks. If you are not sure your experience is enough, contact us and we will check together whether the course is right for you.

How long does a yoga teacher training take and how often do you meet?

Course length varies by style and track. Intensive 200-hour courses usually run about three to four months, while other tracks and 300-hour courses may spread over a longer period.

Most tracks are built around one main session on a fixed day each week, alongside intensive sessions, weekends, personal practice and sometimes online meetings.

This format makes it possible to combine the course with work and daily life, while leaving time for reading, practice, observation and teaching experience. The exact schedule appears on each course page.

How much does a yoga teacher training course cost?

The price varies between tracks. Each course's current price appears on its page, along with start dates. Feel free to write to us with any question about payment terms.

Is the certificate recognized by Yoga Alliance?

Studio Naim's 200-hour course is held with international Yoga Alliance recognition. After successfully completing the training, you can apply for registration as an RYT 200 in accordance with the organization's terms and registration process.

Yoga Alliance is a recognized international registry in the yoga field. Registration may help those who want to teach in studios in Israel or abroad, but hiring requirements are set separately by each studio, organization or country.

Is a 200-hour course recognized by the Israeli Yoga Teachers Association?

The Israeli Yoga Teachers Association grants recognition to teacher training programs of at least 500 academic hours, spread over at least two years. A 200-hour course, at Studio Naim or any other institution, therefore does not appear on its own in the association's list of recognized courses. This is a requirement of scope and duration, not an assessment of course quality.

Graduates of a 200-hour course recognized by an international body can look into joining the association as a teacher-in-training, subject to the association's current terms.

How do you choose a yoga teacher training?

Choose a course by the quality of the training, the teachers and the professional mentoring, not only by price or number of hours. Before registering, it is worth checking:

  • Who leads the course and how much experience they have training teachers.
  • Which subjects the syllabus covers and how much time is dedicated to practice teaching.
  • How many participants are in the group and how much personal feedback you receive.
  • Which certificate you receive and what its recognition actually means.
  • Whether professional mentoring and opportunities to gain experience exist after the course.
  • Whether the schedule, practice requirements and intensive sessions fit your life.

It is also worth talking to graduates and asking what the training was like and what happened for them after receiving the certificate.

Can I start teaching yoga after a 200-hour course?

Yes. A 200-hour training is an accepted starting point for teaching yoga, and in many places it is the training scope expected of teachers at the start of their path.

That said, the certificate is the beginning of the process, not its end. New teachers often start with private lessons, small groups or substitute classes, and keep learning through practice, workshops, continuing education and feedback from experienced teachers.

Getting hired is not automatic: each studio or framework separately considers experience, teaching style and professional fit.

Where do graduates of Studio Naim's teacher training teach?

Since the school opened in 2013, many hundreds of graduates have completed our courses. They teach in studios and gyms, in private lessons and small groups, in organizations and companies, and in education and community settings.

The teacher school operates inside Studio Naim's branch network, so the training includes working in an active studio with real practitioners. Suitable graduates may later join as substitute and scheduled teachers in the studio, according to the system's needs and professional fit.

Where do Naim's teacher training courses take place?

The courses take place at our branches in Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Haifa. Each course page lists the exact branch, day and hours.
