Feldenkrais

Feldenkrais

The Feldenkrais method was invented and developed by physicist and judoka Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais.
The method was defined by its founder as a "return to natural movement," and its goal is to learn to refine movement ability by expanding self-awareness of one's body.

Feldenkrais successfully treated many important and prominent people (among them David Ben-Gurion, who claimed he had never been able to stand on his head before encountering the method).
His great success spread the method in Israel and around the world, bringing him many patients. Today there are major Feldenkrais centers in the United States, many European countries, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, and Australia.

Benefits of the method: effortless upright posture, easier breathing, improved physical and mental flexibility, movement harmony and grace, and enhanced self-perception. The method conveys respect for the body and the capacity to learn across all areas.

Feldenkrais offers an additional channel for working with the body. The class is a slow movement class, usually done on a mat. Through slowing down and listening while in motion, the ability to discern how each person's individual body works gradually develops. During practice the body's range expands, and movement becomes easier and less effortful.

The Feldenkrais method is suitable for artists, dancers, actors, athletes, musicians, and singers, as well as for anyone interested in using their body with greater ease.

We are very proud to offer Feldenkrais classes at our studio. We have classes at our Mazeh (Rothschild), Jaffa, Florentin, and Ben Yehuda branches.
