A journey into the body, the nervous system and the art of attentive practice.
A 50-hour deepening module led by Nieke Franken, inviting yoga teachers and experienced practitioners to know the body more deeply: not only through movement and postures, but also through sensation, listening, breath and touch.
We will explore the relationship between fascia, the nervous system and bodily experience, and learn how to create the conditions for regulation, deep rest and connection in practice and in class. It is an invitation to expand the practice beyond shapes and postures, and to come closer to the subtle, deep experience of being in the body.
What is Embodiment?
Embodiment is the ability to feel the body from within and to act from that sensation, rather than only performing the correct shape from the outside. In practice it means listening to what is happening in a posture. In teaching it means seeing the person in front of you and adapting the practice to their experience, not just to the form.
Six Areas of Study
Embodiment
Developing awareness, listening and connection to bodily experience.
Fascia
Getting to know the connective tissue and its role in movement and sensation.
Nervous System Regulation
Understanding how we respond to stress, safety and rest, with tools for regulation in practice and in teaching.
Restorative Yoga
The art of slowing down and letting go, and creating space for deep rest.
The Art of Touch
Developing sensitivity, confidence and attention in touch and hands-on assists, including consent and ethical touch.
Breath
Exploring the breath as a bridge between body, mind and nervous system.
How We Learn
