Artist Presentation with Yael Orni & choreography workshop with the artist

The Artist Presentation is on the 12.1.13 21:00

In the presentation, Orni will perform two solo pieces – Flower and Seem, and will feature her video art Dimensions and her dance and video art work Manuela.
Seem – solo – the work deals with the complexity of relationship with oneself and with one’s social environment. 12 mn.

Manuela – dance and video art work which will be featured – the work came out of research of the action of communicational, social, kinetical , artistic and musical manipulations. 18 mn.

Dimensions – video art – the piece derived from the research question – will it be possible to turn a two dimensions painting into a three dimensions one. The entire elements create a multiple layered kinetic composition. 13 mn.

Flower – solo – the work deals with instability of relationships. The work is in combination with video art. 10 mn.

In the end of the presentation there will be an open discussion with audience. Entry 30 NIS

Orni had lately performed in Testing Tools Festival (Tel-Aviv) and in Geochang International Dance Festival in South Korea her new duet GPS in collaboration with the dancer Elad Livnat; In 2011, Orni performed her two solo pieces – Flower and Seem – in Mazan International Dance Festival in South Korea; Her work Dimensions was featured in two exhibitions in Tel-Aviv Artists’ Association Gallery and in one exhibition in Hanina Gallery; She is considered by Dr. Ronit Land as “One of Israel’s most promising choreographer “; She created many works which were performed in Israel and abroad in important dance festivals and centres such as Suzan Dallal Centre in Tel-Aviv and The Place in London; She was in Choreography Residency in Bangkok where she reconstructed her piece Manuela for Bankok Dance Festival; Orni was a dancer at Maguy Marin Dance Company, Rina Schenfeld Dance Theatre and soloist in the works of Ido Tadmor, Urs Ditrich, Dina Blich, Sharon Kashi and other; She won first prize at Michael Sonnenfeldt Competition in Ben-Gurion University, Scholarship for Debrah Hay choreography course, Sharet Foundation Choreography award and Jacob’s Pillow Choreography Course Scholarship; She has MA in Choreography from Laban Dance Conservatoire (City University, London), BEd and teaching diploma (Kibbutzim College of Education) and she is now a pre-doctorate student at Haifa University. https://yaelorni.com

Choreography Workshop – Dance and Video Art

As a continuation to the artist presentation, there will be a workshop of 4 lessons of 3 hours each at Studio Naim. In the workshop, participants will experience creating composition in real time at first with movement and later merged with video art.

2.2.13 14:00 – 17:00, 9.2.13 14:00 – 17:00
