Mindfulness

How many times a day do we find ourselves distracted, stressed, drowning in thoughts, and simply not present to what's happening right now?
We come to the studio and train the body — yoga, Pilates, dance — but what about our mind?
The mind is the instrument through which we experience every moment of our lives. Mindfulness meditation is essentially mental training: through it, we train our mind to return to the present moment and be aware of what's happening right now — in the body, emotions, and thoughts.
Through mindfulness practice we can develop greater awareness of ourselves and our surroundings, live in presence, and connect to the sense of happiness and peace that already exists within us. Meditation practice has been found (in thousands of scientific studies) to be beneficial for reducing stress and anxiety, improving focus and efficiency, emotional regulation, and increasing a sense of wellbeing. In our sessions we'll learn what attention is, how to apply the practice in daily life, and above all practice meditation in a variety of ways — sitting, lying, walking — while bringing attention to breath or other objects.
Suitable for those with no meditation experience and for experienced practitioners alike.
