
Mika Asa
I'm Mika, a Pilates teacher since 2018 and a graduate of Physical Education and Movement. Movement has been with me always. Over the years I worked with diverse populations and learned deeply about the healing power of movement. I believe movement is a powerful tool not only for improving fitness and health, but also as part of a process of physical and emotional healing. My classes move at a relatively slow pace to allow attention and focus on body organization and alignment, while still being dynamic and challenging. I believe in the principles of Pilates (with emphasis on breathing, precision, concentration, and flow) and incorporate additional elements from various training and fitness worlds (such as yoga, functional training, flexibility, mobility, balance, and more).
