Shelly Tzifrut

The methods I focus on are Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin. As a teacher, I keep learning, practicing and deepening my own knowledge of yoga. My classes are usually built around a theme and include a mindful sequence of poses that lets you find softness and flexibility even within the effort. For me, yoga is the excitement that begins with the breath and the practice on the mat, and continues out to every part of the body, and beyond. These days I mostly teach groups and private students of all ages, from children to adults.

I started practicing yoga in 2005 in Istanbul, at a studio called YogaSala. In 2007, during a yoga retreat with my beloved teacher Uma, I decided that yoga would become an inseparable part of my life. Since then I have taken part in many workshops with leading, well-known teachers: Dharma Mittra, Yogeswari, Richard Freeman, Chuck Miller, Sean Corn, Sienna Sherman, Petros Haffenrichter, Todd Tessen, Michael Stewart and Mark Darby. In 2011 I completed my first teacher training, focused on Vinyasa, with Alexis Gulliver. I went on to specialize further with a prenatal yoga teacher training with Neslihan Iskit, an Insight Yoga training based on Yin/Yang practice with Sarah Powers, and an advanced teacher training with Hart Lazer focused on therapeutic techniques. I have also taken part in intensive teaching workshops with Richard Freeman, Chris Chavez, Orit Sen Gupta and Noah Mazeh.
