The Art of Teaching Yoga with Vicky Tomsky

Immersion Description

Teaching with Soft Eyes. Teach people first, asana second.

The Art of Touch and of Spiritual Speech

It’s generally acknowledged that many people only retain 10-20 percent of what they learn in a workshop. You will get access to the recording of this workshop, enabling you to go back and view and listen to the workshop as many times as you like.

The Art of Teaching Yoga Course was born out of deep passion for yoga and my experience practicing & teaching this ancient practice for over 15 years.  When I just starting to teach, I was assured that what students needed the most was the information, but with time I learned that teaching yoga is about seeing others with soft eyes which begins with seeing yourself with soft eyes.

The Art of Teaching is a practical and useful guide to skilful hands-on assists and verbal communication workshop.

Invest in Your Career: No matter what style of yoga you teach – this course will grow your skills in the following key areas:

  • Language: Communicate with clarity.
  • Sequencing: Decoding the relationship between poses.
  • Self-Empathy: Trust yourself first.
  • Props: Giving and receiving support.
  • Intro to Ayurveda and how its knowledge can enhance your teaching skills
  • Asana practice begins with the health of your organs
  • The Yoga Sutra: Integrate this ancient wisdom in your teaching
  • Touch: Offering information with your hands.
  • Ethics: Creating a true profession with clarity and practicing nonviolent communication
  • How to create Busy Days Practice
  • 10 Essential Yoga Poses: for all bodies and genders
  • Savasana: Yoga’s most powerful pose.

‘We live in an era where we have so much information swirling past us. We can know everything about the pose and still be unhappy in our lives. While knowledge about the pose is useful and even necessary, it is not sufficient to provide us with what we all crave: peace of mind, clarity, and compassion in our lives. Allow the experience of the pose to be the true teacher. It is, after all, the practice which is the ultimate teacher, not our words.’
